Delegated Coding Has A Bright Future
It's a shame the term "Vibe Coding" got big, and triggered a wave of hype & counter-cynicism. It's just muddied the water.
The way I see it, Agentic AI is going to be a lot like having a team of junior programmers. Programmers that lack deep roots but are great researchers; that work incredibly hard but lose sight of the big picture.
So the people best placed to take advantage of it aren't those who know less about programming than a junior. It's those who understand how to architect a cohesive whole, who are good at managing a team of juniors and great at breaking down features small enough to hand off to that team. To those who see the features that matter, break them down and delegate them, and those who see architectural problems on the horizon and delegate the work needed to avoid them. (And to those who understand why version control matters. 😁)
Vibe Coding's going to create a lot of slop that only seems to work, but Delegated Coding's going to standing up more quality services than we've ever seen before. It's an exciting time.
